Unlocking the creativity and innovation of Botswana’s next generation

Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Dr Lim Kok Wing

In the first batch of Botswana who came to our campus in Malaysia to pursue their higher education, we glimpsed the potential of this wonderful nation. It made us want to learn more. In the learning we came to admire the resilience, the creativity and the beauty of Botswana.

Our first few glimpses have now brought us right to your doorstep because we realized that we are not doing enough by educating and training a few Botswana. We wanted to transfer our knowledge to more of the young and talented people of this country. Even then we were not prepared for the amazing response we received on the first day we opened for registration. As many as 5,000 turned up when we had room for only 1,500.

Clearly the desire for knowledge is there in the heart of every young Botswana. We just have to harness the energy and unlock the hidden creativity of Botswana’s next generation.

Achieving Vision 2016 is, to me, attainable in less than the 10 years that has been allocated.
